Very well written article. Reminds me of when I was a broker on Wall Street would have liked to use these pitches for my clients or for opening new accounts. I've been planning on adding LVMH to my portfolio for a long time it's a great idea. Just buy it a forget about it will just keep growing. Ty 😊

Thank you for the kind words, Joseph! I appreciate it.

LVMH is truly a set-and-forget type of business. Although LVMH is facing (temporary) headwinds, its future looks exceptionally bright.

Hi Yorrin, 4 of them are in my portfolio - 2 of the top 4. Besides what you shared today, are you also on top of their numbers and did you establish (a possible) entry point to open a position?

I am Dutch too - read: practical 🤣- and I am curious in which ones you’ve got your own ‘skin in the game’.

You are hacked I think. I got this exact same message in another Substack-thread…

Hi, Wouter! Dutchies unite. 😂

For most, I am on top of their earnings & fundamentals, not all of them. I had to research a couple before posting.

I'll go over the top 4 for possible entry points.

(This is based on current valuations and growth trajectory. This, of course, can change if either their trajectory changes or their fundamentals change.

1. Adyen: I have significant skin in the game here. €1,300 or below is a solid entry point for Adyen. Currently, still interesting, though. Solid growth on the horizon, strong secular trend, and competent management.

2. Judges Scientific: Again, significant skin in the game. I would say the current price is exciting. Judges is undervalued as of right now.

3. Ferrari: no skin in the game here, €320/350 would be interesting to start looking for entry points for this mean machine.

4. Hermés: No skin in the game here. Significantly overvalued, even considered the excellence within this company. It almost sounds too crazy, but at around € 1,500, I would start looking for entries in Hermès. The follow-up question will be Will we ever reach this?'', I don't know. I am hoping we might do, haha. I would love to own Hermés.

I got skin in the game in: ASML, LVMH, Adyen, and Judges.

Dutchies unite indeed…I have the exact same 4! 🤣

My ASML position is down 25% though, LVMH 15% (despite DCA’ing), JDG 29%..only Adyen is up, but I bought those around the same time as ASML (holding them already for a longer period of time than JDG en LVMH) 😟 I am holding for the long term though, so I hope my investment thesis isn’t destroyed.

ASML for example I am a bit worried about - Huawei claims to be able to build machines too. Even if they aren’t as qualitatively strong, China might be satisfied with that standard, as it might be sufficient….

Solid portfolio! And the patient one always wins. Just keep holding the companies until your thesis changes.

On ASML. Yes, China invested $36B in domestic EUV using their plasma. For now, I don't see any direct threats.

Huawei's EUV system must overcome challenges related to resolution capabilities, throughput stability, and integration with existing semiconductor manufacturing processes. ASML's EUV machines rely on a complex global supply chain, including specialized optics and components. Replicating this ecosystem poses a significant challenge for Huawei as well.

Although there is progress, ASML is known for its excellent service, reliable products, and ongoing innovation.

We would need to see the reliability of Huawei's product before making any rash decisions.

Thanks. Got two strategies (growth and dividend), hoping the dividend strategy can give my growth strategy the time it needs ;)

Rash decisions are never a smart move and yes, ASML is (far) ahead - however, many underestimate China (among them the US, I think) and if they are pushed in a corner they can excel. Also, I heard Huawei got former ASML people on board to lead the charge…

I am holding (on), but watching it closely.

Yup! Someone stole some information and went to Huawei. But Peter Wennink characterized the stolen information as "one piece of a puzzle that you don't have the box for.".

Although we should never underestimate other, ASML continues to innovate to avoid them losing their dominant position.

I trust our Eindhovens company! ;-)
